Get rid of those butterflies by knowing how your session will proceed.
Firstly, anytime you have a question or feel uncomfortable in any way, please let us know. It is our goal for your treatment time to be as therapeutic as possible and that requires you to be comfortable and relaxed. Please let us know if you have any special needs, allergies, etc. when you make you appointment.
After you arrive at the office, please have a seat until you are called back to a treatment room. This ensures that the privacy of all our patients is respected. After you are taken to a treatment room we will finish any paperwork that is unfinished, answer any questions you may have and start the interview. We will take a comprehensive health history, basically ask lots of questions. This will be lengthy your first visit, and shorter on return visits. This interview is important to gather information to make a diagnosis and treatment plan for you.
The next step is the treatment itself. You will be instructed on what clothing needs to be removed and how to lie on the table (face up or face down). While the practitioner is out of the room, you can prepare yourself for treatment and make yourself comfortable on the table. If you are starting face up lay on the pillow provided, face down you can lay with your face in the face cradle (just like when you have a massage), with the top sheet over you. The needles are disposable, single use, super thin (hair-like) and are usually painless. Needle sensation varies from person to
person but common sensations include a heavy feeling, mild aching, radiating feeling to another location, heat and throbbing. If a sensation is too intense for you to relax please alert the practitioner so that the needle can be removed or adjusted. The needles are retained for 10-45 minutes depending upon the condition. Massage and other body work techniques are often used while you are resting with the needles. Most patients become very relaxed. Remember this is you time to relax, talk, sleep, or whatever you feel you need to do.
Your first treatment will last from 1-1 ½ hours and subsequent treatments will last 1 hour. At the end of you treatment we will discuss our recommended treatment plan for you. This will include a treatment course
